PURPOSE:To decrease connection losses by inserting the single core or multicore fibers which have been inserted into a cap of material of >= hardness 7 and have been polished together with the fibers into a bushing of the similar material, opposedly butting these at the polished faces and providing a space for air venting. CONSTITUTION:Fibers are inserted into a cap (a) made of a material of >= hardness 7 such as quartz, sapphire or the like and the end faces thereof are polished together with those of the fibers. This is passed in a bushing (b) made of the similar material and the polished faces are opposedly butted and press-bonded by way of the force that the belleville spring (e) of a holder (2) acts upon a socket (c). Since the air of the press-bonded surface is expelled through the air vent, the polished surfaces contact closely and the losses of light by joining decrease. |
