The heater, esp. for caged birds, consists of an insulating rod containing a resistance heating element and mounting onto the bars of the cage. The rod is attached to the bars by rotation. Diodes can be switched in series with the element to control the heat produced by the element. The switching contacts for this may be located in the cable's feedthrough. Alternatively a similar arrangement can be used for other domestic animals in that the rod is replaced by a larger hollow tube inside which the animals can crawl. The heating element is in this case located inside the tube's hollow wall.
|
