<p>Worm and gear driven switch unit of an electromechanical type and which can be adjusted whilst in motion. A motor (3) and gear unit (2) rotates a shaft (1) which is positioned through the centre (9) of several adjustable discs (8,8' etc.). The shaft (1) is half, or similarly, rounded (100) so that it can operate a switch (6,7) at each centre (9) of each disc (8). The switches (7) are microswitches with a top lever arm (6) depressed by the rotating shaft (1,100). Each switch (7) on the different discs (8) can be given a different operate point by adjusting the position of the switch around the shaft (1). Each disc (8) has a toothed centre (13) to engage a worm thread (14) adjuster bar (17) at the bottom. The discs are graduated to provide reference indicators. The discs (8) may be adjusted by their worm drive (14,17) mechanisms whilst the unit is in operation since there is no mechanical fixing between shaft (1) and disc (8) at the centre (9).</p> |
