An explosive aerosol cloud of a gas-air mixt is produced by the reaction of a metal (cpd), esp of a metal alkyl such as triethyl Al, with water. This reaction can be performed in a submersible which is propelled by the jet reaction in a nozzle at the tail of the submersible. When the explosive cloud is to be used, e.g. as a defence against amphibious landing attempts, the produced cloud can be detonated by suitable initiation. Other suitable metal cpds include alkali and alkaline earth hydrides, B hydride and Zn-Cd dialkyls.
|
