<p>An article of underwear such as panties or briefs consists of a front piece (2) for covering the abdominal region, a rear piece (3) for covering the right and left buttocks, and a joining piece (4) for connecting the front piece (2) to the rear piece (3) and for covering the crotch portion. The rear piece (3) is so pulled and sewed together at the lower end with the joining piece (4) that the portion on the central line thereof is pulled strongest, with the force gradually weakening toward both sides from the center. As a result, a slender recess (6) elevationally elongated is formed along the channel-like crotch portion between the right and left buttocks on the central line of the rear piece (3). Further, the portions located on both sides of the recess (6) of the rear piece (3) are so swelled as to adapt to the raised portions on the right and left buttocks. </p> |
