<p>There are successive infra-red dark radiators (6,7,8) with a wave length of 1.5-10.0 microns, above and below the fabric (1) being processed in the stenter, particularly when going through a thermofixing treatment. The infra-red units are divided into fields which can be operated independently of each other. There is a pivoting mask (9) between the radiators (6,7,8) and the fabric (1) to give a selective shrouding, and its positioning is set automatically according to the current feed to the fabric drive unit. The mask is moved by a double-action compressed air cylinder. The system allows a controlled application of heat to a moving fabric, and also allows different degress of heat to be applied to different fabric zones.</p> |
