<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an adsorbent which consists in attaching aniline in a specific ratio to active carbon and which exhibits superior adsorbing performance for aliphatic aldehydes contained particularly at low density in gas phase. CONSTITUTION:3-30wt%, preferably 5-20wt% aniline is attached to active carbon such as coconut shell active carbon, coal-base active carbon or the like of usually >=80 mesh grain sizes, whereby the above-described adsorbent is obtained. A method in which active carbon is dipped in an aqueous aniline soln. to have aniline adsorbed then filtered and dried or the like metod is used as a method of attaching aniline to active carbon. In addition, a gas contg. aliphatic aldehydes (e.g.; HCHO, CH3CHO) in low concentration is contacted with the moving of fluid bed of this absorbent, whereby the aliphatic aldehydes may be adsorbed and removed with good efficiency.</p> |
