PURPOSE:The titled composition for an internal combustion engine, having a very low fuel consumption and improved abrasion resistance, and prepared by adding a molybdenum oxysulfide organophosphorodithioate, a phosphonate compound, etc. in specific proportions to a lubricating oil base. CONSTITUTION:(A) 0.1-10wt% preferably 0.2-3wt%, a molybdenum oxysulfide organophosphorodithioate expressed by formula I (R is 1-30C alkyl, aryl, etc.) and (B) 0.1-10wt%, preferably 0.1-3wt%, one or more types of phosphonate compounds, preferably a thiophosphonate expressed by formula II (R is H or a group of an olefin compound having a molecular weight of 200-3,000; Me is alkaline earth metal), a phosphate compound expressed by formula III (R is H, aryl, 1-20C alkyl, etc.) and an alcohol derivative thereof are added to a lubricating oil base, preferably a mineral oil having a viscosity of 6-12cst at 100 deg.C, to give the aimed composition. |
