Alkaline zinc-air accumulator

A zinc oxide-free alkaline or neutral salt soln. is used as electrolyte for charging and a second electrolyte is used during discharge. Separate reservoirs are provided for these two electrolytes together with means for transferring them, as required, into or out of the electrode tank. Openings or pipes which can be closed as required are placed between the electrolyte and electrode containers and the necessary venting passages are also provided. Water recomposition electrodes may be added to provide overpressures which can be used to carry out the transfer processes.
