<p>Process for the separation and production of homolone complex comprises production of hop extract with aid of hydrocarbon as solvent, hop extract serving as elutriant and containing material to be separated, preparing column with inert alkaline grainy adsorption material, preferably calcium silicate, magnesium silicate or basic aluminium oxide or mixture of calcium oxide and diatomite, with affinity to humulone and repelling lupolone; applying hop extract continuously to column with a speed dependent on dimensions of column and concentration of extract to obtain frontal chromatographic separation and retaining largest part of humulone at adsorption material before extract leaves column, and using extract as elutriant, until capacity of column is exhausted, collecting lupolone, waxes and other components in discharge, and removing solvent.</p> |
