摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify a connection between elements by forming plural semiconductor thin films such as P type amorphous, N type amorphous, intrinsic amorphous or the like on an insulating substrate wherein the substrate is made with difference in level when making the solar cell and each PN junction is provided on each step. CONSTITUTION:An insulator or a substrate 301 insulating the surface is formed with structure having differences in level. An N type amorphous semiconducotor 303a, intrinsic amorphous semiconductor 304a and a P type amorphous semiconductor 305a are stacked by aligning them on a step to compose the solar cell. Semiconductors 303b, 304b, 305b are similarly provided on the adjoining step. Furthermore, semiconductors 303c, 304c, 305c are formed in the same way. In this case, the upper most semiconductor, for example, 305a, provided on the lower step is connected with the lowest layer on the adjoining step, for example 303b, by making all of uniform height for a series connection state. Lead out wires 302 are installed respectively on the end sections of the lowest layer 303a at the lowest step and the upper most layer 305c at the upper most step. In this way, an array assemble is facilitated.
