PURPOSE:A continuous pickling apparatus for steel strips which consists in mixing pickling solutions to continuous steel strip pickling cells consisting of two or more cells to make the pH of the pickling solutions uniform, and which permits efficient and stable pickling. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 1 held by support rollers 5 is passed through the pickling cells 2, 3 disposed with suitable sets of electrodes 4 between the rollers 5 in the arrow direction. At this time, the pickling solutions in storage tanks 6 and 9 are passed through heat exchangers 9 to a predetermined solution temperature, thence they are supplied to the respective pickling cells. The pickling solution in the cell 2 is then returned to the tank 9 via a return pipe 12 and the pickling solution in the cell 3 is returned to the tank 6 via a return pipe 13. Because of this, the pickling solutions in the respective pickling tanks are automatically mixed by circulation. Hence, the pH of the pickling solutions may be maintained uniform in both pickling cells, thus the frequencies of charging neutralizers into the pickling solutions decrease and maintenance characteristic may be improved. |
