Self-adhesive coatings of polyisobutylene-polyethylene

Preparing reels, bobbins etc. which have adhesive coatings, in which the adhesive is a plastic material containing 90-55% (by wt.) of a polymer of ethylene, and 45-10% (by wt.) of polyisobutylene. The polymer of ethylene used is a homopolymer or copolymer of ethylene. The polyisobutylene used preferably has a mole. wt. of from 25,000 - 100,000, and preferably it occupies 10-30% of the adhesive mixture. The reels, bobbins etc. which are coated with the adhesive mixture of the invention are used for transporting sensitive ribbons, such as magnetic ribbons, photographic films etc. The adhesive does not damage the ribbons which are attached to it, and it facilitates their easy removal.
