STABILIZER FOR ELECTRICCDISCHARGE LAMP

PURPOSE:To largely reduce the weight and installation space of a stabilizer for two electric-discharge lamps of different wattages and to permit stepwise dimming by winding coils for one lamp on one side of a rectangular iron core and coils for the other lamp on the other side in series respectively. CONSTITUTION:Coils n1 and n2 for a lamp A are wound on one side of external magnetic paths 21 and 21' consisting of a rectangular iron core 20 having a magnetic path for leakage in the inside center, and coils n1' and n2' for a lamp B are wound on the other side so that the winding directions are opposite to each other. The coils n1 and n2 are connected in series and connected to filaments f1...f2' of the lamp A, and the coils n1' and n2' are connected in series and connected to both filaments of the lamp B to form a compound stabilizer. Said procedure permits the device weight and installation space to be largely reduced as well as stepwise dimming to be performed by switching.
