<p>PURPOSE:To decrease installation costs and electric energy and improve efficiency and productivity by successively moving plural units of electric furnaces to three positions of raw material supplying, melt refining and molten steel taking-out disposed in a loop shape and performing continous casting by the predetermined works. CONSTITUTION:An electric furnace 1 is supplied of raw materials in a raw material supply position A, after which it is moved to a refining position B by a crane or the like, where electrodes 3 with a cover 2 are inserted into the electric furnace 1 and after the cover is closed, the power is supplied and refining is performed for a fixed time. Upon ending of the refining, the electrodes 3 are pulled up and the electric furnace 1 is moved to a molten steel take-out position C by a crane or the like, where it is tilted by a tilting device, not shown, in the state that the cover is held closed, whereby the molten steel is poured into a preheated ladle 6 through the take-out port 4. It is equally well to provide plural units of the electric furnaces and successively repeat the said operations. The preheating of the ladle 6 eliminates the need for increasing the tapping temperature, decreases the abrasion of refractory materials, and decreases the working electric energy and installation costs; in addition, the automation of the continous casting is made possible by introducing a computer.</p> |
