<p>PURPOSE:To enable to control the amount of tape buffer, by digitally control the amount of tape buffer with the output from a digital encoder. CONSTITUTION:This is a buffer device which inserts a tension arm 21 in the tape path of a tape carrier. This system provides a digital encoder 25 consisting of the absolute encoder system detecting the operating area of the tension arm 21 provided in intelocking relation with the tension arm 21 and the incremental encoder system detecting the operating direction and speed of the tension arm 21. Further, the constitution is made that the amount of tape buffer can digitally be controlled with an output from this digital encoder 25.</p> |
