The security lever for locking a window or shutter catch is positioned with its back towards the window (10). It is mounted along the axis (3) of the support (7) for the sliding window release bar (5). The axis allows the lever to rotate so that its upper hooked part (8) locks into the bar (5) locking the bar to the support (7). The lever has an arm (2) with a shoulder (4) at its bottom end on which the bar (5) rests.
