Laminate mfd. from two fibrous suspensions - on belt screen passed in turn through fibre suspensions with and without asbestos fibres

Prod. is made of fibrous suspensions, specially as a laminate on a fibre cement basis, by applying in turn two different fibrous suspensions to an endless belt screen which is drawn across an air chest. The first suspension contains (in)organic fibres (but not asbestos) in a matrix of a hydraulic binder with corrosion inhibitor additives. The second suspension is an asbestos fibre cement suspension. Such a mat can be wound around a mandrel to produce a pipe which is corrosion resistant and has a very high tensile, flexural and impact strength.
