Plastics moulded vehicle fuel tank - has lower balance tank formed by moulding restricted flow section to bottom of main tank

The fuel tank for a car is moulded of plastics and has the underside moulded in one piece with a restricted throat (5) leading to a small captive space (4) from which the fuel line is taken. The captive space provides a secure fuel feed no matter how low the fuel level is in the main tank (1), or when the vehicle is on a slope. The restriction may be formed during the main moulding process and requires no additional fittings to the tank. The captive space provides uninterrupted fuel supply also when the vehicle is being driven around corners or over rough ground.
