The fuel pump has a rotor (62) with radially-extending blade parts (65) whose tips lie adjacent the periphery of a pumping chamber (61) in a housing (60). The blade parts (65) define a series of recesses (69) for collecting liquid fuel and discharging it tangentially as a series of discrete volumes into a tangential outlet (71). This entrains and removes fuel vapour from the chamber. Liquid fuel is collected in the recesses as a result of its collection on the leading faces of further blade parts (66) and its subsequent passage through openings (68) in an annular rim (64) of the rotor.
