<p>The diamond tipped hole-cutting drill bit may be used on masonry incorporating an automatic fluid feed for lubrication and flushing out cuttings. It comprises a cylindrical cup (2) with the cutting tip (3) on its lip and an axial spindle (1)extending aft. The cup contains a sponge (4) which is impregnated with a lubricant flushing fluid. As the bit penetrates, the sponge is progressively compressed so that fluid is released to the cutting tip. Injection turrets are obviated, and the system can be applied to large dia. cutters.</p> |
