Safety insert for reinforcing door - includes screw fittings attached to door and jamb which interlock when door closes

A door is reinforced against e.g. break-ins by two interlocking screw fittings secured in the door edge and jamb. The first part (7) has a sleeve (8) with a closed base (9) which contains a chamfered central aperture (10). The second part (1) has a pref. conical section (4) which also contains a chamfered central aperture and a cylindrical section (2) which pref. fits up to the shoulder (3) into the door or jamb. An arrow shaped insert (14) fits into the first part and forms an identation in the opposing door or jamb surface when the door is closed to ensure coaxial mounting of the parts.
