<p>The stretcher is particularly for lifting the bodies of those injured in road accidents, without moving them first, and also for handling immobilised patients. It comprises a rigid frame with removable belts, the latter having automatic locking devices at the ends. It can be of tubular construction and rectangular in shape, in one piece or telescopic, with sockets in the transverse portions to accommodate carrying handles, also fixed or removable grips on the sides. Flat strips or needles can be provided for passing the belts under the patient's body and the stretcher, these having a retaining hook at one end and handle at the other.</p> |
