The invention comprises compounds of the formula where A is an anthraquinone radical, R 1 is H or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon radical, R 2 is a cyano or carboxylic acid ester radical, and n is 1-4. The compounds are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula where R 3 and R 4 are H or alkyl radicals which may be linked to one another, optionally with the inclusion of a hetero atom, or R 3 is an aryl radical and X is an anion, with a cyanoacetic acid or malonic dinitrile in the presence of an acid-binding agent. |
