<p>Head has a magneto-electrical converter which comprises an amorphous magnetic thin film of an alloy of cobalt and 22-24 atomic % Ga. The film may be positioned in the front gap of the head or, in the case of a head having a front and a rear gap, is positioned in one of the gaps while a non-magnetic material is positioned in the other gap. Pref. the thickness of the film is 0.2-1 micron. The film is practically free of current noise and has an axis of easy magnetisation which is vertical to its surface so that a magnetic circuit with high magnetic-electrical conversion efficiency can be formed. The head has high sensitivity. The Gd-Co film has a rectangular hysteresis characteristic in a service temp. range of -20 to +60 deg.C.</p> |
