Powders are transported by air current from containers to a number of delivery points (e.g. in charging a number of extruders with granulate), each of which has a precipitator and compressed air chamber and material container; the delivery points are fed independently and are connected in series to a fan, and the air current through each is regulated according to the level in it. The regulators for all the precipitators are connected to the fan regulator in series, each material chamber has an outlet baffle which opens under a set weight and closes automatically with a time lag after emptying; the regulator system has a switch operated when the baffle opens plus a valve which is then closed in the air pipeline from the delivery point. Simple system and operation.
