Essential oil aerosols prodn. - by placing soft gelatin capsules contg. essential oils in warm water bath

New procedure for prodn. of artificial aerosols comprising essential oils involves (a) prodn. of soft gelatin capsules filled with liq. essential oils and (b) placing one or more of the soft gelatin capsules in warm (at least 25 deg.C) water in an open water container. In an alternative procedure, the capsule is a completely sealed capsule filled with a liq. essential oil and made of a foil which dissolves in water. New device for prodn. of artificial aerosols comprising essential oils is an approximately bean-size soft gelatin capsule filled with a liq. essential oil or mixt. of essential oils. Used in prodn. of essential oil aerosols, e.g. for inhalation in the prevention of nasopharyngeal infections or for imparting a pleasant odour to sauna baths. Simple procedure permits economical and accurate dosing of the essential oils. Capsules contg. a variety of essential oils can be produced, so that various odours can be produced as required.
