Quantitative fluid measurement - involves synchronised filling and weighing, and emptying of containers without interrupting flow

The appts. is used for the quantitative measurement of material with flow characteristics which involve measuring the wt. of the material as it flows continuously. This is achieved by filling a series of containers and arranging that one container is being weighed whilst others are being filled. The arrangement is suitable for the oil, chemical and food industries. The end of filling and the emptying of the containers are sequenced according to parameters such as material vol., wt., fill time and emptying time. Each container is weighed after a settling period following filling. Each is emptied so that the emptying period finishes just as one of the remaining containers starts to be emptied. The fluid oscillations are damped and hydrostatic wt. components compensated.
