What are disclosed are melt adhesives comprising a polyesteramide having a slow solidification rate, comprising (A) a dimerized fatty acid having 16-44 carbon atoms; optionally in admixture with a monocarboxylic acid, (B) a member selected from the group consisting of caprolactam and 6-aminocaproic acid, wherein 0.25-5.0 mol of component (B) is employed per mol of carboxyl groups present in component (A).
