<p>Compsns. for shaving beard- and other hair body-surfaces consist of: (A) 9.5-12.5 pts. spermaceti, 12-15 pts. white mineral wax, 52-56 pts. paraffin oil, 19-23 pts. distilled or deionised water, 0.2-0.5 pts. borax and sufficient rose oil; or (B) 1 pt. colloidal Mg-Al silicate ("Veegum" (RTM)), 1-1.5 pts. beeswax, 1-1.5 pts. spermaceti, 15-20 pts. paraffin oil, 3.5 pts. sorbitan monopalmitate, 69-74 pts. distilled or deionised water and sufficient preservative; or (C) 2.5-5 pts. lanolin, 10.12.5 pts. cocoabutter-derived cpds., 1.5-3 pts. beeswax, 5-6.5 pts. mineral oil, 1.5-3 pts. stearin, 74- 75.5 pts. water and the necessary quantityof perfumes, essences and preservatives. The compsns. can replace soap and other foam compsns. in shaving. The compsns. are free from cationic or anionic tensides, which could irritate the skin, and have physiological pH 5.8-6.2. The compsns. can be applied without a shaving brush, exert a skin-softening activity, allow smooth gliding of razor blade on skin and obviate the need for pre- or after-shave compsns.</p> |
