摘要 <p>A complementary bipolar transistor circuit having the same output impedance for positive and negative input voltage transitions and very low standby power consumption. A first pair of complementary bipolar transistors (1, 2) connected in emitter follower configuration is driven by a second pair of complementary transistors (5, 6). The collectors of the second pair (5, 6) provide signals (via lines 7, 8) to the bases of the first pair (1, 2). The signals have d.c. levels offset from each other with each signal level being substantially at the value which switches the respective transistor of the first pair (1, 2) on and off. The excursion of each signal is only a fraction of the voltage V&lt;Sub&gt;be&lt;/Sub&gt; necessary to forward bias each emitter-base junction of the first pair of transistors (1, 2).</p><p>In a driver circuit species of the invention (fig. 1), the bases of the second pair of transistors (5, 6) are connected to each other and receive the input driving signal (at 9). In a NOR logic circuit species of the invention (fig. 2), the emitter of one transistor (18) of the second pair of transistors (18, 19) is connected (via line 21) to the base of the other transistor (19) of the second pair of transistors and receives one of the input logic signals (e.g. at 20). Additional transistors (22, 23) are connected in parallel with said one transistor (18) of the second pair of transistors (18, 19), the bases of the additional transistors receiving the remaining input logic signals (at 24, 25). The ouput from both the driver circuit and the logic circuit is derived from the commonly connected emitters of the first pair of transistors (1, 2 resp. 15, 16).</p>
