A dripless, fire-retarded, polyurethane elastomer may be prepared by blending the elastomer with (I) a hexaalkoxymethylmelamine and (II) a synergist, wherein the synergist is (1) a trihydrocarbylcarbonylmelamine, (2) para phenylenebismaleimide, (3) an aromatic bismaleimide generator, or (4) mixtures thereof.
