A silting up of cellulose fibres and water with a consistency within the area from 0.017 to approximately 0.7% of the total weight of non-gaseous fibre and water are bleached with ozone. This is done without the usual addition of organic additives. The water can contain impurities formed during the bleaching process. Fast reaction times are achieved. The silting up is mixed during use by a mixing energy of 0.05 - 26.3 kW/m<3> of gaseous silting up. The passage of ozone from the gaseous to the liquid phase is the limiting factor during approximately 5.2 kW/m<3> gaseous silting up. Above approximately 10.4 kW/m<3> gaseous silting up is the limit for liquids - solid material is the limiting factor.
