PRODUCTION OF CATALYST CARRIER

PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst carrier having a large specific strength, by carrying out the curing in the caustic alkali aqueous solution of the saturation vapor pressure when the grinding, granulaion, curing, drying and burning are carried out after giving a partial dehydration to the alumina hydrate. CONSTITUTION:For instance, a partial dehydration is given to the Al2O3.3H2O produced by the Bayer method, and then the granulating is given after the grinding to obtain the alumina grain-type substance having grain sizes of 3-4.5mm.. This substance is then cured in the NaOH aqueous solution of about 150 deg.C and for about 10hr. In this case, the NaOH concentration is set to about 0.5-8% to increase the specific strength between the strength and the bulk density.
