The fin-stabilized projectile (1) has an ogival shell body (2) with a nose portion (3) at the forward end for mounting a detonator (4) and with a tail-tube with a finned tail unit (8) arranged at the rear end, the shell body (2) obtaining an internal cylindrical bore (9). The shell body (2) consists of a forward shell body portion (7) forming substantially three quarters of the body length and a rear shell body portion (8). The internal cylindrical bore (9) extends as far as the rear end of the forward shell body portion (7), whereby a large cylindrical cavity is obtained. For the sealing of the cylindrical bore, the rear shell body portion (8) is provided with a cylindrical extension piece (20) which engages in the cylindrical bore (9) of the forward shell body portion. The cylindrical bore (9) has a diameter (10) 0.75 to 0.82 of the calibre diameter (11) of the shell body (2). <IMAGE> |
