A process for purifying an N,N- dialkylaminoethanol, which process comprises heat treating the N,N- dialkylaminoethanol in the presence of a compound selected from ammonium salts, halogenated hydrocarbon, aminoalcohol hydrochlorides, aminoalcohol hydrobromides, aminoalcohol phosphates, and acid anhydrides and halides, and then distilling the resultant mixture in a fractionation column containing no more than 10 real plates. |
