<p>The display system provides the effect of a moving picture visible to the passengers in the carriage of an underground train. Attached to one wall of the underground tunnel is a series of image supports with corresponding light sources beneath them. The lights project pictures on to screens also attached to the side wall of the tunnel. A light sensor is associated with each light source to switch on the light when the corresponding sensor is illuminated. On the side of the railway carriage is a light which illuminates the sensors in turn, so that at the train goes past, the pictures are illuminated in sequence. The carriage windows have the same spacing as the picture giving a film effect to the passengers in the train.</p> |
