[Also in Division F1] Screw pumping apparatus for raising sewage effluent from a reservoir 13, comprises an impeller 10 mounted in an inclined trough 12 having at its upper end a screen 14 which allows the raised liquids to flow therethrough to an upper reservoir 16 but retains the raised solids which are raised higher and subsequently delivered onto a conveyor 15. The separated solids may be broken up and returned to the effluent. The screen may be in the form of parallel bars or a perforated plate.</p> |
