The reading desk has a curved base to fit round the body of the reader and a transparent cover (1) to hold the book in place. The cover is fixed by two pivots at the top of the desk so that it closes under its own weight. The desk has two lateral supports (6) which allow its height and inclination to be adjusted. At the front of the supports is a groove (7) which allows an adjustment in height as well as inclination.
