<p>1446936 Making electrical connections AMP Inc 8 Nov 1973 [14 Nov 1972] 51799/73 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] Connection is made to the conductors 2 of a flat cable 4 by a plurality of conductive posts 20 secured in a block 18. The upper ends 44 of the posts have two pairs of teeth, the pairs being inclined towards one another at the top. The holes 66 in block 16 for the teeth are tapered to bias the teeth towards one another and the blocks are held together by latches 60. The teeth have their shoulders 22 set in one direction in one row of holes and in the opposite direction in the other row, thus staggering the connection points in adjacent conductors (Fig. 5 not shown). A jig (76) and a die (96, Fig. 7 not shown) are used to press the teeth through the flat cable. Studs 50 on the block 18 allow location of the block in the die which has an adjustable stop (88) for the cable. The die has rectangular bores (108, 108<SP>1</SP>, Figure 8 not shown) for receiving the teeth. The bores do not allow the teeth to part greatly as the conductor 2 passes between them and in consequence the conductor is deformed between the teeth (Figs. 9 and 10 not shown).
