The amines have formula A-NH-B-NR1R2 (where A is an acyl group, B is group of the phenylene- or naphthylene type, R1 an alkyl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl group and R2 an alkyl or aralkyl group. B, R1 and R2 may be substituted). The amines are prepared by reaction of an acylamidoarylamine of formula A-NH-B-NH-R3, (where R3 is a hydrogen atom or an R1 type group; with a halide R2). The reaction is carried out in the presence of a trialkylphosphate. The process cuts down on the by products formed. |
