The connector consists of two parts which are both moulded from insulating material. The connector consists of a track and a sliding element for energising into that track. The wires (22) enter from the back of the connector and run along channels inside the sliding element and in the centres of dovetails (6). The wires are held between the track and sliding element, the drawer is locked in position by engaging a lug (12) in a hole in the side of the track. When two connectors are pushed together the dovetails interlock, stripping the insulation from the wires which lie in contact with each other in the channels which are wider than they are deep.
