The economical indicator for analogue values can display absolute absolute values or small variations in the indicated parameter and can be used in partic. for a logarithmic display in a ships navigation system. It is simply and quickly readable and requires only one scale to be read. An indicator (2) can be displaced from null w.r.t. a quasi-endless scale (4) by several rotations. The scale divisions are on a fixed disc (3) with viewing windows (5) spaced on a circle. Numbers (7) arranged in a further disc (6) behind the fixed disc (3) are spaced at intervals different from the distances between the windows through which they are viewed. The numeral disc (6) is driven proportionally to the indicator drive. The numbers are arranged in groups whose members differ by the value of a full scale length.
