<p>Rotating drum for a washing machine is provided with apertures in the walls by making slits which enables a small leaf of the wall to be folded outwards. Leaves function as scoops when the drum is rotated in the wash liquor, driving the liquor into the drum as a series of small jets, whose force is related to the size and orientation of the leaf and the speed of the drum. This gives a faster, more efficient washing action, and permits shorter liquor ratio, if desired.</p> |
