A vehicle (10) has its motor (11) modified by substituting a new air intake and treatment means (A, B, C and D) for the conventional filter The intake means comprises an air induction means (A) including a housing (A) having a fan (21) therein communicating with a U-shaped flexible conduit means (B) having heaters disposed adjacent thereto for heating the air to remove moisture therefrom, if needed, and conducting it to the treatment station (D). The treatment station (D) comprises a housing (15) having a plurality of sealed glass envelopes (36, 38) positioned therein and containing inert gases, or a combination thereof, for treating the air as it passes thereby on its way to the carburetor. The inert gases of the tubes (36, 38) are selected to discharge ultra-violet rays and heat, or a combination thereof when heated, to cause the oxygen molecules in the air to disperse, thereby increasing the available oxygen therein to enhance and facilitate the burning of the fuel. A bypass conduit (C) can be utilized to conduct the air directly to the treatment station (D) if it is sufficiently hot and moisture free. Sensors are provided for determining the condition of the air to be treated. |
