The pyrotechnic charges (1) operated by the circuit are connected to valves which control the flow of gas from cylinders. If a fire is detected, the charges are ignited in order to allow the gas to escape, to extinguish the fire. The charges are controlled by a main circuit consisting of a power supply including a battery (2) and a transformer-rectifier (3) charging circuit. Connection is made via one manual switch (7) and one switch (8) operated by a fire detector. A second safety circuit includes a magnetic (10) which may by hand operated. The magneto output is applied to the coil (14) of a relay switch. When the switch is changed, the magneto output is also applied to the two switch terminals (12,13) which are connected to fire the pyrotechnic charge. Thus in the event of a power failure, the charges may still be operated.
|
