PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body superior in productivity at low cost without requiring a coating device by forming a linear polymer having p- phenylene units in the main chain direction and an element of group VIb at the para position of each said unit. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is formed by laminating on a substrate 1 an electric charge transfer layer 2 and a photoconductive layer 3 both made of the straight chain polymer having p-phenylene ring structure and the element of group VIb, such as S, at the para position of said benzene ring on the main chain, and the layer 3 has a free surface 4 on the other side. The polymer is enhanced in charge transfer efficiency by heat treating it in an atmosphere containing oxygen, thus permitting the charge transfer layer 2 and the photoconductive layer 3 to be formed in uniform thicknesses without using a coating device. |
