The pantographic simulator reproduces the natural dynamic movement of the jaw during mastication. For the completely toothless, it comprises two plates glued to moulded baseplates on the impressions of the top and bottom jaws. For the partly toothless, it comprises two tubes or rings fitted to the remaining teeth. In all cases there is a fixed intra-buccal frame from which extra-buccal hinging components and guides extend, these having a tracing-pen on the top jaw reproducing movements on a lower support on the bottom jaw.
