The system uses a pressure clip effect on one or more fixing lines. The connection may employ a T-section body panel rib (7) which is pushed into a dovetail section groove (6) in the reinforcing element (5), the rib (7) being either fixed to the panel (2) or being in one piece with a moulded panel (2). The rib (7) may be discontinuous, may take the form of a line of studs, or may take the form of a double staggered line of studs.
