<p>The outboard engine mounting contains a caisson which can be fitted in a well in the craft. The bottom of the caisson has a double trap door (8) hinged at the side of the opening (4). The front of the caisson carries two slides (6) supporting a movable bracket (5) which carries the engine. The bracket can be moved in the caisson by tackle (11), and the trap is operated by a cord (10). The caisson may be fitted with a lid, and the engine is remotely controlled by cables.</p> |
